In recent years, wet toilet paper has been favored by consumers because of its softness, comfort and thorough cleaning. So, what is wet toilet paper? Is it the paper used to wipe the toilet? Is it wet wipes? Are the ingredients safe? Will it cause skin sensitivity? Can wet wipes replace wet toilet paper? How is wet toilet paper better than toilet paper?...
Question 1: What is wet toilet paper, can we use wet wipes instead of wipes?
Although wet toilet paper is called paper, it is not paper. Strictly speaking, it is a type of wet wipe. It is a product specially designed for toilet use, which can more thoroughly clean waste such as excrement and menstrual blood.
Do not use wipes instead of wiping your butt. First of all, the positioning of these two products is different, and there are some differences in product characteristics. After the wet toilet paper is wiped, the moisture attached to the skin needs to be able to evaporate quickly, so as to ensure that the perianal area is dry, otherwise, it is more likely to breed bacteria.
There are many types of wet wipes, some contain alcohol, and some kitchen wipes contain special cleaning factors. Wet wipes containing these special ingredients are not suitable for cleaning sensitive skin. Even the wipes used for skin cleansing often contain emollient ingredients, and the moisture is not easily volatile. Therefore, even if you use wet wipes to wipe your buttocks in an emergency, you should wipe off the residual liquid with dry toilet paper as soon as possible to avoid skin discomfort caused by prolonged humidity.
In addition, the production materials and processes of wet wipes and wet toilet paper are also different. Wet toilet paper uses wood pulp fiber and viscose fiber as raw materials, and is produced by a wet spunlaced nonwoven process, and most of them are flushable. The raw materials of wet wipes include polyester fiber, polypropylene fiber, etc., which are not easy to disperse. Therefore, wet wipes cannot be thrown directly into the toilet, otherwise, it will easily cause the toilet to be blocked.
Question 2: Can wet toilet paper be used to wipe the mouth?
This question should be answered in terms of whether the ingredients of wet toilet paper are safe. The composition of wet toilet paper mainly involves two aspects - the substrate and the liquid composition. The substrate currently used for wet toilet paper is spun lace non-woven fabric, and its raw materials are mainly two types: wood pulp and viscose fiber. Both these two raw materials come from plants widely distributed in nature and are biodegradable, renewable, and environmentally friendly.
The liquid components of wet toilet paper mainly include water, active extracts (provide moisturizing, skin-soothing and other functions), and some products will add surfactants (enhancing cleaning effect). These liquid ingredients in the product must meet national standards and will not cause adverse irritation and allergic reactions to the skin and mucous membranes.
Although there is no problem with wet toilet paper wiping your hands, or wiping your face, judging from the substrate and liquid composition, it is not recommended to use wet toilet paper to wipe your mouth. First, hand and mouth wipes that come into contact with the oral cavity must pass the oral toxicity test, and wet toilet paper generally does not do this; second, the use environment of the two is different and cannot be generalized.
